Dr. Catherine Schuster completed their PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Strasbourg in 1991. After joining Inserm as a research associate in 1995, they focused on hepatitis C virus research, establishing a group that contributed significantly to understanding HCV replication and host interactions. Dr. Schuster has held various leadership roles, including Research Director at Inserm and deputy head of Inserm unit U1110. Currently, they are the Référente Scientifique Inserm for the I-Site Lorraine and IdEx Université de Strasbourg and directing research on the interplay between hepatitis C and lipid metabolism.
