Leonid Pliner

PhD Researcher

Leonid Pliner is a PhD Researcher at INSERM, focusing on developing a 3D dynamic microfluidic device to model multi-organ interactions during type 2 diabetes. With a strong background in bioengineering, Leonid previously completed a Master of Research at Imperial College London and a Master of Engineering at The University of Sheffield. Notable projects include the design of a neurochip for neuronal growth during the MEng final year project and microelectrode arrays for biomarker detection during the MRes project. Additional experience includes an internship in biotechnology at ilaya International Group and a role as Vice President and Founder of the SAIS Sheffield Artificial Intelligence Society. Currently, Leonid collaborates with HCS Pharma in testing a novel hydroscaffold biomaterial, BIOMIMESYS®.
