Samuel Vergès is currently the Director of Research at INSERM and heads the Exercise-Hypoxia team at Laboratory HP2 in Grenoble. They hold the Chair in "Montagne, Altitude et Santé" at the Fondation Grenoble Alpes Université and manage the EXPEDITION 5300 project, a scientific and humanitarian expedition in the world’s highest city. A former high-level biathlete, Samuel has contributed to various roles including President of EXALT, which focuses on altitude medicine, and has served on editorial boards for multiple scientific publications. Their academic supervision included mentoring numerous Master’s and doctoral students at Université Grenoble Alpes.
