Lenny Guarente

Leonard Guarente is a prominent scientist and entrepreneur known for founding Elysium Health in 2013, where the mission focuses on providing access to and understanding of scientific innovations in consumer health products. Holding multiple prestigious positions, Guarente serves as an Affiliate at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research and as the Director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for Science of Aging Research at MIT, both since 2010 and 2008, respectively. As a Novartis Professor at MIT since 1981, Guarente's research primarily investigates sirtuins, proteins that influence aging and age-related diseases, notably through the effects of resveratrol. Guarente earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
