Heather Simpson

Heather Simpson is an experienced data scientist and manager with a strong background in linguistics and cognitive science. Currently a manager at Intuit since September 2016, Heather has held positions ranging from staff data scientist to data scientist. As a fellow at Insight Data Science, a post-doctoral program, Heather enhanced skills bridging academia and data science. Previous roles include an internship at Medium One focused on IoT platforms, teaching at Kaplan International English, and project management at the Linguistic Data Consortium, where Heather oversaw significant linguistic data projects. Heather earned a PhD in Linguistics from UC Santa Barbara, where research included modeling speech processing, along with a Master’s Degree in Linguistics and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Bryn Mawr College.
