Normand Labrie serves as the President and Vice-Chancellor of Université de l'Ontario français (UOF), the first French-language autonomous university in Ontario, which opened in Toronto in 2020. They have played a pivotal role in advancing the Francophonie and engaging in research on post-secondary education in French in Ontario. Labrie previously held various leadership positions, including roles with SSHRC-CRSH and the University of Toronto, and contributed to the planning of a French-language university. They earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Université Laval in 1989.
