Sophie Chen is a communications professional with extensive experience in social media and public relations. Currently serving as a Communications Officer at SSHRC-CRSH since December 2021, Sophie previously held the position of Junior Communication Officer at Statistics Canada. Sophie's entrepreneurial spirit led to the establishment of Handmade Masks by Sophie in 2020. Early career experiences include roles as a Student Assistant in the House of Commons and a Switchboard Operator in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada. Sophie’s foundational work experience began as a Store Associate at Bulk Barn Foods Limited. Academically, Sophie holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Commerce from EDHEC Business School.
