Leo Hoare

Leo Hoare has a diverse work experience. Their most recent role is as a Senior Data & Machine Learning Engineer at Insight Timer since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Data Consultant at Hansen Yuncken from October 2021 to January 2022, and as a Data Consultant at Cloud Shuttle in October 2021. Leo also has experience in data engineering, having worked at Itoc as a Senior Data Engineer from February 2021 to July 2021, as a Data Engineer from March 2020 to February 2021, and as an Associate Data Engineer from September 2019 to March 2020. Leo also served as a Tutor for Software Construction at UNSW from June 2019 to September 2019. Before transitioning into data and software roles, Leo worked as a Software Developer at Clinic to Cloud from September 2018 to September 2019. Leo gained retail experience as a Retail Assistant at Macpac Ltd. from August 2017 to September 2018, and started their career as a Student Casual at Macquarie University from June 2015 to November 2017.

Leo Hoare has a strong educational background in information technology and economics. Leo obtained a Masters of Information Technology degree with a focus on Data Science, Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence from UNSW, where they studied from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, Leo participated in an exchange program at The University of British Columbia in 2016, where they studied Environmental Economics. Leo completed their Bachelor of Economics degree at Macquarie University, studying from 2012 to 2016. Additionally, Leo participated in a summer exchange program at Universidad de La Sabana in 2015, focusing on Language, Business, Culture, and Environment.

In addition to their formal education, Leo has obtained several certifications. Leo received the AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in June 2021. In September 2020, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification. Leo also holds the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certification, obtained in March 2020, as well as the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate certification, obtained in January 2020. Leo achieved the AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification in November 2019 and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification in October 2019. Leo has further certifications from Confluent, including the Confluent Certified Administrator for Apache Kafka obtained in July 2020, and the Confluent Certified Developer for Apache Kafka (CCDAK) obtained in June 2020.
