Vanessa Ferlaino

Vanessa Ferlaino serves as the President and Board Chair of The Being Human Foundation since November 2022 and holds multiple board member positions with the City of Sault Ste. Marie's Municipal Heritage and Walk of Fame Committees. As a Senate I-EDI Committee Member and Sessional Lecturer at Algoma University, Vanessa also engages with the Prison Entrepreneurship Program as a Sponsor, Advisor, and Mentor, providing financial planning and business support to formerly incarcerated individuals. Vanessa is a member of the Board of Directors for the Algoma Fall Festival and serves as an Advisor for the Sekond Skin Society. Additionally, as a Certified 200hr Mindfulness Meditation Teacher on Insight Timer, Vanessa offers free mindfulness practices. Founding and leading Vienna Studios, Vanessa hosts the award-winning podcast "The Human Challenge," which explores topical issues and human-interest stories. Vanessa holds a Master’s Degree in Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor’s Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, and Immunology from the University of Toronto.
