Lawrence Lee

Lawrence Lee, PhD, MBA, currently serves as the Director of Software Engineering at insitro since March 2024 and has been an Advisor at Lamin since March 2023. Previously, Lawrence held the position of Director of Engineering - Capability Platform at GeneDx from June 2023 to February 2024, where support was provided to the Machine Learning, Data Warehouse, Cloud Engineering, and DevOps Engineering teams. Lawrence also served as the Chief Technology Officer and Advisor at Shiru from November 2020 to December 2023, focusing on the application of machine learning and bioinformatics in sustainable food ingredient discovery. Past experience includes leadership roles at Notable, Invitae, Pacific Biosciences, Genomic Health, and DNA Sciences, with a strong emphasis on software engineering, bioinformatics, and project management. Lawrence earned a PhD in Biological and Medical Informatics from the University of California, San Francisco, an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, and a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
