John McGonigle

John McGonigle is an experienced bioinformatics professional currently serving as the Director of Bioinformatics at Insmed Incorporated since August 2023. Previously, John held similar director-level roles at Adrestia Therapeutics and served as Bioinformatics Manager at Horizon Discovery, where significant contributions included leading the design and development of bioinformatics tools and NGS analysis pipelines. John’s career began with a focus on data science and engineering at organizations such as Congenica and ITO World, and included research internships with the British Ecological Society and the University of Sheffield. John earned a PhD in Disease Genetics from the University of Cambridge and holds both a Master's degree in Insect Immunology and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Sheffield.
