Lukas Bachmann

Lukas Bachmann, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of Research at Insmed Incorporated, a position held since January 2023. Prior to this role, Lukas founded and acted as Chief Scientific Officer and Head of Discovery at Vertuis Bio, Inc., focusing on RNA-technology and gene therapy for next-generation therapeutics until its acquisition in January 2023. Lukas's extensive research experience includes a postdoctoral tenure at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where work on advanced AAV gene therapy and genetic mechanisms of locomotor control was conducted. Earlier postdoctoral positions were held at the Brain Research Institute, University of Zürich, along with a doctoral thesis exploring brainstem recovery post-trauma. Educational achievements include a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Life Science Graduate School at the University and ETH Zurich, as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Neurobiology and Biology from ETH Zurich.
