Josh Blumberg has a diverse work experience in the fields of academic technology, information technology services, and teaching. Josh started their career as a Software Engineer at ITS - Internet Testing Systems, where they designed and built software and implemented databases. Josh then moved on to work as an LRC Intern at Eagle Rock School, where they taught computer-based courses, redesigned and maintained the computer network, and collaborated with students on multimedia projects. Josh then served as the Director of Technology at Shackleton Schools, overseeing and supporting all technology usage, budgeting for future growth, and even building a rock-climbing wall during a project-based geometry course. Josh continued their career as a Network Manager at Rivers School, where they not only taught Computer Science but also managed and maintained servers and computers and designed an innovative wireless language laboratory. Josh then worked as a Technology and Math Instructor at Gann Academy, teaching subjects such as Algebra II and Computer Science and mentoring teachers on integrating technology into the classroom. Josh's next role was as the Director of Information Technology Services at Addison Central Supervisory Union, where they provided leadership, coordinated technology initiatives, supervised a technology department, and trained teachers and staff in the use of technology in education and administration. Josh then served as the Director of Academic Technology at Champlain College, where they supervised the eLearning team, led the transition to a new Learning Management System (LMS), and designed strategies for adoption, professional development, and content migration. Most recently, they have been working as an Integration Specialist at InSpace Proximity, providing consulting services for LTI integration with learning management systems, documenting installation instructions, and assisting clients with configuration.
Josh Blumberg earned their B.S./B.A. degree in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from the University of Rochester between 1993 and 1997. Josh then pursued further education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where they obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Education, Policy, and Management from 2006 to 2007.
