Mika Helin

Mika Helin has over 20 years of work experience in the field of software development and architecture. Mika started their career at Soon Communications Plc in 2001, where they worked as a Software Engineer, developing web portal software and interfacing with Oracle Database system. In 2002, they joined Analyste Ltd as a Software Designer for a short period before moving to Elisa Corporation, where they worked as a Software Engineer until 2005.

In 2005, Mika joined Insta Group and began their long-term career there. Mika started as a Design Engineer, participating in the development of the Finnish GBAD Command and Control software system. Mika was responsible for designing and implementing software for the tactical data terminal and communication platform. Later on, they refactored and architected the current incarnation of the tactical data terminal software.

Throughout their time at Insta Group, Mika took on increasingly senior roles. Mika became a Software Architect in 2007, playing a crucial role in the development and expansion of the tactical data terminal software. Mika designed extension architecture for integrating different weapon systems into the software system and conceived a multipurpose communication platform.

In 2011, Mika was promoted to Senior Software Architect and continued to contribute significantly to the company's projects. Mika'smain responsibilities included architectural design and development efforts for various software systems. Finally, in 2021, they took on the role of Chief Systems Architect, where they led the design and implementation of the distributed command and control software system for Ground Based Air Defence. Mika also focused on improving technical cooperation and compatibility across development programs.

Throughout their career, Mika has demonstrated a strong interest in technical issues and the integration of new systems and capabilities.

Mika Helin has a strong education background in the field of Computer Science. They first pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Tampere University of Applied Sciences, graduating in 2002. Following that, they went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Tampere University of Technology, which they obtained in 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Mika Helin has also obtained several certifications in various specialized areas. They completed the "Sequences, Time Series and Prediction" course offered by Coursera in July 2020. They also completed the "TensorFlow in Practice Specialization," "Natural Language Processing in TensorFlow," "Convolutional Neural Networks in TensorFlow," and "Introduction to TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning" courses, all from Coursera, in the months preceding July 2020.
