Arnu Pretorius

Arnu Pretorius is a highly experienced research scientist currently serving as a Staff Research Scientist at InstaDeep since January 2020, following roles as a Senior Research Scientist and Research Scientist within the same company. Prior to this, Arnu played an organizer role for Deep Learning IndabaX Western Cape from December 2017 to April 2018, contributing to capacity-building in machine learning. A history of internships includes positions at Praelexis, where Arnu focused on general attribute embeddings using Skip-gram neural network models, as well as zenAptix, where participation in scalable machine learning algorithms for classifying automobile driver behavior took place. Earlier experience also includes front-end web development at Isobar and event management at Oasys Innovations. Arnu's academic qualifications comprise a PhD in Computer Science, a Master’s Degree in Mathematical Statistics, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Sciences, all obtained from Stellenbosch University between 2011 and 2019.
