Ashwin Somakumar

Ashwin Somakumar serves as the Vice President of Marketing at Instawork since March 2024 and mentors start-ups and marketers on go-to-market and growth strategies at First Round Fast Track. Previously, Ashwin held the role of Head of Product and Growth Marketing for Square Capital from October 2021 to March 2024 and was involved in product marketing for payments at WhatsApp Inc. from January 2020 to October 2021. Between January 2015 and January 2020, Ashwin was the Director of Product Marketing at OpenTable, overseeing global product marketing for the restaurant product and marketplace portfolio. Earlier experience includes positions such as Associate Director of Pricing and Senior Manager of Pricing Strategy, alongside academic achievements that include an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from Boston College Carroll School of Management and a Bachelor’s Degree from Visvesvaraya Technological University.
