inste^d uses AI to redefine poverty assessment, moving beyond income-based metrics to capture the full reality of deprivation. Its Poverty Assessment AI (PAAI) empowers policymakers and partners to design targeted, community-driven solutions rooted in lived experience and global data.

inste^d is founded on the principle that understanding poverty is the first step to ending it. inste^d understands the challenges faced by policymakers and their partners and is harnessing the power of AI to redefine poverty assessment and provide organizations with better tools.

While any effort to fight poverty is commendable, previous strategies have fallen short – largely because they had to rely on narrow, income-based measures that overlook the layered and nuanced realities of deprivation that trap individuals and communities.

Poverty is not just a number, and broad metrics cannot hold the weight of lived experience. To bridge this gap and help ensure aligned and efficient interventions that live up to their potential, inste^d has developed Poverty Assessment AI (PAAI), a bespoke LLM trained on the most comprehensive global poverty data, including the nuanced insights of the Poverty Stoplight methodology. This exciting new technology will allow organizations to diagnose poverty at the household level and address it with targeted, community relevant solutions.
