Instigate Arts CIC harnesses creativity to instigate positive, progressive social change through arts production and participation.
We are led by artists and based in the North.
We focus on supporting marginalised artists, questioning representation, class barriers, race and gender inequalities.
We foster civic engagement by combining arts, archives, academia, and activism.
We act as a conduit for cross-sector collaborations between private/public sector organisations and communities.
Our practice involves many areas in the culture sector including curating, developing and producing contemporary art exhibitions, events and festivals, independent films and live musical performances – all designed to encourage participation and critical thinking within the audience as well as supporting the creatives at the heart of our communities.
