Laurent Dacheux

Laurent Dacheux is a researcher focused on zoonotic viruses and serves as the deputy director of the Laboratory for Urgent Response to Biological Threats (CIBU) at the Institut Pasteur. Trained as a pharmacist, Laurent completed a PhD in virology, specializing in the antibody response in long-term asymptomatic HIV patients. After joining the Institut Pasteur in 2004, they spent over 20 years as the deputy director of the National Reference Center for Rabies, engaging in both public health and research activities. Currently, Laurent's work spans microbiological diagnosis, mobile laboratory deployment, and the study of various zoonotic viruses, particularly those associated with bats and other small mammals.
