Shelley Jackson's work experience begins with their role as a Project Manager at Arizona Coalition for Change/Our Voice, Our Vote AZ from November 2017 to December 2019. During this time, they focused on youth civic engagement and spearheaded programs to build youth organizing power in the state. Shelley also co-created and executed The Young Black Organizer Project and developed and executed a digital and communications plan on various issues.
From November 2019 to May 2020, Shelley worked as a Lead Corp Member Coach at Organizing Corps 2020. In this role, they facilitated high-quality training for field organizers, assisted with curriculum revision, provided feedback and guidance to coaches and staff, and developed relationships with state parties and elected officials.
Starting in June 2020 and ending in March 2021, Shelley held the position of Deputy Director of Training and Engagement at Instituto. In this role, they designed and implemented training sessions, supported outreach and turnout for events, and co-designed a policy fellowship program.
Finally, Shelley became the Program Director at Instituto from April 2021 to April 2022. As the Program Director, they oversaw the development and execution of fellowship programs, collaborated on a strategic plan to increase program impact, and maintained relationships with partners, stakeholders, and fellows. Beginning in April 2022, they became the Executive Director, with ongoing responsibilities in that position.
Shelley Jackson attended Arizona State University from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Community Advocacy and Social Policy.
