Michael Hargiss

Michael "Mikey" Hargiss is a highly experienced software engineering professional specializing in software testing and quality assurance. Currently serving as Principal Software Engineer in Test at Instructure since May 2015, Hargiss has designed and implemented a comprehensive monitoring and reporting solution for Uptime Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and has collaborated with Datadog on precise uptime measurement metrics. Previous roles at Instructure include Tech Lead and Software Engineer in Test, where Hargiss established automated testing strategies that significantly reduced bugs and incidents. Prior to Instructure, Hargiss was Lead Software Development Engineer in Test at Corporate Managing Systems Inc, where a dedicated QA team was created, improving process efficiency and model accuracy. Hargiss holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Utah Valley University and an Associate of Arts in Psychology and Music Theory from Lewis and Clark Community College.
