Neil Newton

Neil Newton is a Technical Product Manager at Instructure, with a background in product management and music theory education. Previously, Neil served as a Staff Product Manager at OpenStax, Rice University, where leadership in cross-functional teams led to significant product innovations for millions of students. Neil's experience also includes roles as Director of Product and Curriculum at WURRLYedu, focusing on educational tools that integrate music for K–12 learning, and as a lecturer in music theory at UC Santa Barbara and the University of Pittsburgh, providing extensive training and mentorship. Neil holds a PhD and a Master of Music from The University of Auckland, as well as a Bachelor of Music from the University of Otago.
