Derek McLean

Derek McLean retired in March 2019 after a successful career in QA/RA and Post Market in the Medical Device Industry. Derek is considering limited consultancy opportunities in the future. Before retiring, Derek held the position of Head of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, Europe at Insulet Corporation from August 2017. Prior to that, they were the Managing Director/Owner of Duart Medical Solutions Ltd, a consultancy that supports medical device companies outside of the EC to enter the European market, from December 2016 to August 2017. Derek also worked as the Senior Director of EMEA Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs at Exact Sciences from July 2014 to December 2016. Before that, they were the Director of Quality Assurance - International at Hologic UK Ltd from September 2004 to July 2014.

Derek McLean earned a Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Scientists with a specialization in Clinical Chemistry from Glasgow Caledonian University, where they attended from 1980 to 1983.
