Andrew Mercer

Andrew Mercer, PhD, is an experienced drug development scientist specializing in biologics and advanced therapy drug discovery. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Protein Engineering at IntegerBio, they lead a team dedicated to antibody and protein engineering. Andrew has held multiple positions, including Director of Gene Therapy Research at REGENXBIO Inc., where they focused on AAV capsid development and led teams in gene therapy innovations. They earned a PhD in Biochemistry from UC San Diego, where their research involved natural product biosynthesis and protein labeling techniques, and previously contributed to antibody discovery at MedImmune.
