Carey Hwang

Carey Hwang, MD, PhD, currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at IntegerBio since March 2025. Prior to this role, Hwang held several senior positions at Vir Biotechnology, Inc., including Senior Vice President and Head of Clinical Research, and was involved in leading clinical research efforts for chronic infections. Hwang's experience also includes serving as Executive Director at Merck, where the focus was on global clinical development for infectious diseases, notably leading teams in the development of doravirine and MK-8591A. Earlier career roles include Medical Director and Associate Medical Director at Bristol-Myers Squibb, and various positions at Vanderbilt University Medical Center that emphasized HIV research. Hwang's educational background includes an MD and PhD from West Virginia University School of Medicine and an AB in Molecular Biology from Princeton University.
