Ryan McFarland

Ryan McFarland has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. In their most recent position at Integris starting in 2022, they have worked as a Business Intelligence Specialist II and III. Ryan is responsible for designing and developing front-end reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate. Ryan also uses Power BI to create data-driven reporting that requires minimal explanation. Prior to that, Ryan worked at CalTech from 2016 to 2022, where they held various roles including Business Intelligence Specialist II, Account Manager, Tier 2 Engineer, and Tier 1 Engineer. In these roles, they provided troubleshooting support for software and hardware issues, built BI applications, and acted as a liaison for clients. Before CalTech, Ryan worked at Shentel from 2011 to 2016 as a Sales Support Lead, Sales Support Administrator, and Sales/Customer Service Representative. Ryan provided analytics and data trends, managed data sources and feeds, and sold phones and services to customers. Ryan also gained early work experience at James Madison University from 2009 to 2011 as a Reel-to-reel digitizer and Resident Advisor, and at Shentel from 2006 to 2010 as a Comm Center Operator.

Ryan McFarland attended James Madison University from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Media Arts and Design with a focus on Digital Video and Cinema Studies. In terms of additional certifications, they acquired Exam 697: Configuring Windows Devices from Microsoft in February 2017, Power Platform Fundamentals from Microsoft in October 2021, Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate from Microsoft in April 2021, Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) from Cisco in November 2017, and CompTIA Network+ from CompTIA in March 2017.
