Andrei Warkentin

Andrei Warkentin is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in virtualization and system software, currently serving as a Senior Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation since October 2022, focusing on RISC-V system software engineering. Warkentin previously chaired the Technical Steering Committee at RISE, where responsibilities included establishing workflows and organizing working groups. Prior to these roles, significant contributions were made at VMware from 2011 to 2022, including as an architect for Project Monterey and leading the ESXi-Arm team. Warkentin's early career spanned positions at Motorola Mobility and Microsoft Corporation, where expertise in Linux platform support and virtualization technology was developed. Warkentin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Chicago, complemented by foundational education at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy.
