Somnath Paul

Somnath Paul is a Software Engineering Manager at Intel Corporation since September 2022, leading energy-efficiency improvements for AI workloads through software and hardware innovations on client SoCs. Prior to this role, Somnath served as a Senior Research Scientist at Intel Labs from September 2011 to August 2022, where significant achievements included developing a CXL-based near-memory specialized SIMD accelerator and pioneering the first Intel Architecture-based mm-scale microcontroller. Somnath holds an MBA in Business Analytics and Business Strategy from the UW Foster School of Business and a PhD in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, complemented by a BTech in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Jadavpur University.
