Dirk Avau

Dirk Avau has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Dirk started their career as a Researcher at IMEC in 1984 and worked there until 1988. Dirk then joined IBM as an Account Marketing Manager, where they stayed for 10 years. In 1998, Avau became the Commercial Director at Belgacom and remained in that role until 2002. Dirk then founded IntellectEU in 2002, where they currently serve as the CEO. At IntellectEU, Avau is responsible for leading a global digital finance technology company, specializing in Swift, Blockchain, DLT, AI, and Quantum Computing. Dirk oversees a diversified digital finance product portfolio.

Dirk Avau holds a Master of Science and Engineering degree in Physics from RUGent and KULeuven. Dirk also obtained a certification from IBM as a member of the IBM Blockchain Advisory Board.
