Matthew McAllester

Matthew McAllester is a journalist and media executive who currently serves as Chief Executive Officer at Intelligence Squared. They previously served as Europe Editor for TIME magazine and TIME.com, overseeing coverage of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. From 1994 to 2007, they were a correspondent, bureau chief, and reporter for Newsday Media Group, including work as a local Long Island reporter, Internet columnist and reporter, and Middle East Bureau Chief. They held editorial roles at Newsweek—including Editor of Newsweek International, Global Editor-in-Chief, and Editor of Newsweek Europe—from 2016 to 2017, and were a Contributing Editor for Details Magazine from 2008 to 2011. They were Adjunct Professor/Visiting Associate Professor at The City University of New York in 2012.
