Leandro Lacerda

Leandro Lacerda is a Machine Learning Research Scientist at Inter since March 2021, specializing in deep learning and probabilistic modeling with applications in recommender systems, time series forecasting, money laundering detection, and latent variable inference. Prior experience includes serving as a Data Scientist and Innovation Leader at Mastermaq Software, where Leandro successfully reduced customer churn by approximately 45%, and as Under Secretary of State at the Minas Gerais State Office for Strategic Priorities, leading teams on various governmental policy implementations. As a Cofounder and Manager of SEED, one of Latin America's notable startup acceleration programs, Leandro attracted global entrepreneurs to Minas Gerais. Earlier roles included Data Scientist and Cofounder at Valori Consulting and Investments, focusing on data science projects for public and private sectors, and a Research Assistant position at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics. Educationally, Leandro is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, building on a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree also obtained from the same institution.
