David Liu

David Liu is a data scientist currently working at Interac Corp. since May 2023, specializing in developing and deploying machine learning models for fraud detection in digital payment platforms. Previously, David contributed to Payments Canada by establishing a risk control framework for cyber security and creating a tail-risk evaluation model using advanced statistical methods. Experience as a machine learning engineer at Branchy Solution involved designing solutions and automating data processes, while a senior associate role at West Sherbrooke Capital Inc. focused on investment analysis and risk budgeting. David co-founded Financial New Horizons Inc. and holds a Master’s degree in Management Analytics and Data Science from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
