Ireen Birungi

Ireen Birungi has extensive experience in the field of information security, currently serving as Vice President of Information Security and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Interac Corp. since June 2019. Previously, Ireen held the position of CISO Cybersecurity at Thales from March 2017 to April 2019 and served as Director of Managed Cybersecurity Services for Thales Group (North America). Other notable roles include Cyber Security Program Delivery at Rogers Communications and Senior Information Security Advisor at eHealth Ontario. Ireen's background includes conducting threat risk assessments, managing security operations services, and leading cross-functional teams on complex security projects. Educational qualifications include a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto and a diploma in Graphic Arts and Design from Durham College.
