Timothy Shaffer

Timothy Shaffer is the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Chair of Civil Discourse and Director of the SNF Ithaca Initiative at the Biden School of Public Policy & Administration, roles held since 2023. They also serve as a Senior Advisor at the National Institute for Civil Discourse and as Board Vice President of the Interactivity Foundation, both positions assumed in 2025. Timothy’s academic pursuits include a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Theological Studies from the University of Dayton, a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and Philosophy from Saint Bonaventure University, and a PhD in Education from Cornell University.
