Javier Ortega Abascal

Javier Ortega Abascal serves as the Director de Transformación y Mercadeo at Interbanco Guatemala, leading digital transformation initiatives and overseeing business and personal product areas, customer experience enhancements, and participation in various bank committees since April 2013. Previously, Javier held the position of Director de Riesgo Crediticio, maintaining a credit portfolio exceeding $760 million and achieving top rankings within the Guatemalan banking system. Javier also contributes as Vice President of the Board at InterConsumo and Director of Gronn, a sustainability-focused social enterprise, while having served as Director at Asociación Española de Beneficencia prior. Javier's extensive banking career includes roles at International Finance Bank, where responsibilities included credit risk management and overseeing significant credit portfolios. Academic qualifications consist of an MBA in International Business from the University of Miami and various specialized programs in leadership and business intelligence from distinguished institutions.
