Ali Ak

Ali Ak is a Senior Research Scientist who currently conducts research on energy-aware media technologies and contributes to video coding standards at InterDigital, Inc. They co-founded Verosis, a start-up focused on immersive media platforms for architectural projects, and previously worked as a Software Engineer at KaTron Defence Aerospace and Simulation Technologies Inc. Ali completed a PhD as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Research Fellow at Polytech Nantes, focusing on perceptual tools for light-field and volumetric imaging. They also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Nantes Université, collaborating with Meta on user-generated HDR content. Ali holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Bilkent University and advanced degrees in Computer Science from Nantes Université and Polytech Nantes.
