João Regateiro

João Regateiro is currently a Research Scientist at InterDigital, Inc., focusing on the INVICTUS project within the MimeTic team since January 2023. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Researcher role at Inria (April 2020 - December 2022), where involvement included research on human shape representation in motion and co-supervision of students on neural graph networks. As a PhD student at the University of Surrey (September 2016 - April 2020), research centered on creating video-realistic characters for interactive user engagement. João also worked as a Software Engineer at Vertual Ltd (October 2014 - September 2016) on virtual reality simulation systems, and served as a second marker for Portuguese exams at the University of Hull (September 2015 - July 2016). Educational credentials include a PhD in Computer Graphics, Animation, and Computer Vision from the University of Surrey, an MSc in Games Programming from the University of Hull, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
