Luke Hollingbery is a Senior Polymer Development Engineer at Interface Polymers. Prior to this, they worked as a Polymer Scientist and Project Manager at The Technology Research Centre Limited from June 2016 to December 2017.
At The Technology Research Centre, Luke helped develop innovative new injection moulding processes with the potential to bring disruptive step changes to the injection moulding industry. Luke also managed work aimed at bringing innovative new processes to the recycling of polymeric products that are currently not recycled.
Luke used Prince2 Project Management techniques to plan and monitor progress of projects including the reporting of both technical and budgetary aspects.
As Project Manager, Luke oversaw the development of a system for recycling multi-layered packaging materials currently considered non-recyclable. Luke also Project Managed the developement of an innovative system for reducing injection moulding cycle times.
In their role as Lead Polymer Scientist, Luke was responsible for developing a system of microwave heating specific polymer blends to significantly reduce cycle times. Luke was also Lead Polymer Scientist on a system to create foamed parts during injection moulding without the use of chemicals, and on a system to improve injection moulding characteristics through the use of ultrasound.
Luke Hollingbery has a PhD in Polymer Fire Retardancy from the University of Central Lancashire. Luke also has a Bachelor's Degree in Polymer Engineering from London Metropolitan University and an HNC in Polymer Technology from London Metropolitan University. Luke is also certified from APMG-International in Prince2 Foundation Project Management.
Some of their coworkers include Christopher Kay - Chief Scientific Officer, Simon Waddington - Business Development Director, and Tim Clayfield - Application Development Leader. Luke Hollingbery reports to Ross Baglin, CEO.
