Software Engineer at Interlay

Gregory Hill has held a variety of roles in the software engineering industry. From 2015 to 2020, they worked at Summit Games, Interlay, Monax Industries, and Abertay University. At Summit Games, they were a Back End Developer, responsible for the secure back-end development of a social networking platform in PHP and SQL, as well as some front-end work in HTML/CSS and JavaScript. At Interlay, they were a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer. At Monax Industries, they were a Platform Engineer, responsible for maintaining Hyperledger Burrow and developing features such as Ethereum (Web3) JSON-RPC support, a delegated validator bonding mechanism, a network identification registry, and a no-consensus mode for faster transaction throughput. Gregory was also responsible for managing the company's Kubernetes infrastructure on Google Cloud using Helm. At Abertay University, they were a Research Assistant (Machine Learning), developing a machine learning based marketing classification system for an industrial partner using Python and Scikit-Learn. Finally, at ZenMate (Internet Security & Privacy), they were a Network Engineer, responsible for developing a new C++ VPN system to encrypt and tunnel a user's connection to a designated server over negotiable TCP/UDP transport mechanisms.

Gregory Hill attended Abertay University from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a degree in Ethical Hacking in the field of Computer Science. Gregory then attended The University of Edinburgh from 2017 to 2018, where they obtained an MSc in Informatics.
