Ladislav Garassy has over 10 years of experience in the fields of risk engineering, insurance solutions, and reinsurance analytics. Ladislav began their career in 2001 as a Senior GIS and Database Specialist at MultiMedia Computer s.r.o. In 2004, they were an Election Observer for the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations in Ukraine and Europe. In 2005, they were an Election Observer for the European External Action Service in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. In 2007, they joined Intermap Technologies as the Head of Risk Engineering, Insurance Solutions and Reinsurance Analytics, where they managed a department of risk engineers and developers of insurance and reinsurance analytics, and provided technical support for business development and sales. Ladislav also held the roles of Manager, Risk Engineering, Insurance and Flood Solutions, Director, Engineering/Risk Management Group, and Lead, Engineering/Insurance Solutions Group. In 2011, they were an Election Observer for The Carter Center in South Sudan. Later that year, they began blogging and writing columns for Denník SME. In 2012, they became a Lecturer at the East European Educational and Cultural Center, teaching classes on Elections, Ethnic Conflicts, Geopolitics, and Federalism. In 2014, they began blogging for Mladá fronta a.s. In 2015, they became a Lecturer at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, teaching classes on Political Geography, Ethnic Identity, and Nationalism. In 2016, they began blogging for the Foreign Policy Association.
Ladislav Garassy's education history includes a Bachelor degree from Slovenská technická univerzita v Bratislave in Electro-material Engineering and Supraconductors, which they obtained between 1993 and 1997. Ladislav then obtained a Master degree from Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave in Demography and Social Geography between 1994 and 2000. Following this, they attended Slovenská technická univerzita v Bratislave from 1998 to 2000 and obtained a Master degree in Nuclear Physics and Ecological Engineering. Finally, they attended Charles University from 2000 to 2006, studying Political Geography and Ethnic Identity.
