Peter Soetens

Peter Soetens has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Peter began their career as a Research Assistant at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 2001 and worked there until 2005. Following that, they joined Flanders Mechatronics Technology Centre as a Senior Researcher, where they worked from 2005 to 2009. During this time, they also worked as a Freelance Consultant at The SourceWorks, specializing in training and development with open source technologies.

In 2010, Soetens became the CEO of Intermodalics, a company focused on software for autonomous systems. Peter played a key role in leading the company through the robotics revolution, contributing to the development and sale of software for these systems.

In 2016, Soetens took on the role of CEO at Pick-it 3D, a position they held until 2022. Peter'swork at Pick-it 3D focused on driving the company's growth and success.

Throughout their career, Soetens has demonstrated expertise in robotics, open source technologies, and machine control applications. Peter'swork experience showcases their ability to adapt to changing technologies and industries while providing valuable contributions to various organizations.

Peter Soetens has a strong educational background in engineering sciences and robotics. Peter obtained their Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences with a specialization in Real-Time robotics from KU Leuven, completing their studies between 2001 and 2005. Prior to this, they achieved a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence at the same university during the period of 2000 to 2001. Furthermore, Peter Soetens also holds a Master's degree in Electro-mechanics & automation from Katholieke Hogeschool 'Sint-Lieven', Gent, where they studied from 1996 to 2000.
