Dan Visel

Engineer, Wayback Machine

Dan Visel is an accomplished engineer and freelance designer/developer with extensive experience in digital projects spanning software, interactive electronic books, and web applications. Currently serving as an Engineer on the Wayback Machine at the Internet Archive since November 2024, Dan has previously held key roles at organizations such as Coko and Internet Archive in UX development and creative technology. With a background in managing and developing projects since 2013 on danvisel.net, Dan has contributed to a variety of platforms including iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire. Dan's experience includes co-founding Unfold Inc., managing the Modern Language Association Commons, and conducting research at the Institute for the Future of the Book. Dan holds an A.B. in English and American Literature from Harvard University.
