Free Range Archivist And Software Curator at Internet Archive

Jason Scott has extensive experience in archival and software curation, currently serving as the Free Range Archivist and Software Curator at the Internet Archive since March 2011, where responsibilities include overseeing data ingestion and organizing events. As the founder of TEXTFILES.COM since May 1998, Jason curates a collection of Bulletin Board Era text files significant to early online communication. Earlier roles included organizing demoparties from 2007 to 2010, and serving as a UNIX Administrator at various companies, including Ziff-Davis and HarvardNet, in the late 1990s. Jason's career began in technical support and art direction at Psygnosis and Focus Studios, respectively. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Emerson College, obtained in 1992.
