Mike Simpson

Mike Simpson has extensive work experience in the field of technology and IT management. Mike currently serves as the Director of Infrastructure Systems & Software at Internet2, where they manage a team responsible for software development and operational support in areas such as network automation, configuration modeling, and telemetry tracking. Prior to this, Mike held various positions at the University of Arizona, including Department Head of Technology Strategy & Services, Associate Director of Technology Strategy & Services, and Interim Director of Data Center Services. Mike also worked as the Director of Solutions Architecture Group and Assistant Director of Enterprise Applications Technical Services at the University of Arizona. Before joining the University of Arizona, Mike worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Group Lead and Team Lead in library development and system integration. Mike started their career as a Senior Instructor at Bluestone Software, Inc. Mike has demonstrated expertise in team management, budget planning, project strategy, and coordination with central and campus IT organizations throughout their career.

Mike Simpson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 with a BA degree in Communications. Mike also holds various certifications, including ITIL Foundation (obtained in 2013) and Oracle Database Administrator (obtained in 2000). Additionally, they have completed several training programs in areas such as project management and web application development.
