Field Marketing Manager at Interplay Learning

David Chapa, CMP has over 20 years of experience in event management and marketing. David is currently serving as the Field Marketing Manager at Interplay Learning since November 2021. Prior to this, David worked at Leica Biosystems as the Senior Events Manager from December 2017 to July 2020. In this role, they managed and strategically developed the trade show and event portfolio for North and South America, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and overseeing contracts and vendors. Before that, David was the Exhibits and Events Manager at Leica Microsystems from June 2004 to December 2017, where they handled the Americas trade and event schedule, including both live and virtual trade shows. David started their career as a Team Lead at Encore Productions from September 2001 to May 2004, where they supervised Event Marketing Project Managers and managed events, trade shows, and seminars for the life sciences division of IBM. Prior to that, David worked as the Affiliate Services Coordinator at the Texas Municipal League from February 2000 to September 2001, managing two affiliates and overseeing logistical arrangements for educational events. David began their career as a Conference Coordinator at The University of Texas at Austin from February 1998 to February 2000, where they promoted and coordinated programs held at the Thompson Conference Center, working with various stakeholders and managing program support activities. Overall, David Chapa has a comprehensive background in event management, including strategic development, team leadership, contract management, and logistical coordination.

David Chapa, CMP holds a Bachelor's Degree in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. David then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Marketing from Regis University, which they completed in 2009. In addition, they obtained the certification of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) from the Events Industry Council in January 2001.
