Alexandre Deitos

Chair of the INTERPOL Disaster Victim Identification Working Group

Alexandre Deitos is a Federal Forensic Expert with extensive experience in Disaster Victim Identification (DVI), Forensic Anthropology, Crime Scene Investigation, and Forensic Odontology. Currently, they serve as Coordinator of the Permanent Commission on DVI at the Brazilian Federal Police and as Chair of the INTERPOL DVI Working Group, leading international collaboration efforts in this critical field. In addition to their professional roles, they are a Full Professor at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo, supervising graduate students and conducting research in Forensic Anthropology. Alexandre holds a PhD and MSc in Dental Sciences from the University of São Paulo, along with additional specializations in Forensic Anthropology and Human Rights, and Forensic Odontology. They have previously contributed as President of the Forensic Anthropology Brazilian Association and are an organizer and co-author of notable reference books in the field.
