René Gapert is a Crime Analyst at An Garda Síochána, currently working with the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Serious Crime Review Team. In 2024, René became the first certified Geographic Profiling Analyst within the organization, utilizing advanced crime and data analysis to aid various investigations. With over 28 years of prior experience in forensic human identification, René holds a PhD in Forensic Anthropology from University College Dublin and is a Certified Forensic Anthropologist under the UK Justice System. René also contributes to international best practices in disaster victim identification as a member of the INTERPOL DVI Pathology & Anthropology Subgroup.
