John Cook

John Cook has more than 25 years of experience in the technology, cleantech, and energy industries leading hundreds of M&A and financing transactions involving both public and private companies. Widely recognized as a leading advisor to entrepreneurs, technology companies, and energy companies, John currently serves as the Chief Legal Officer at Intersect Power.

Before joining the Intersect Power team, John was most recently a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe leading the San Francisco Corporate Group and involved in the Technology & Innovation, Energy & Infrastructure, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Technology Companies Group practices. He has represented clients in all aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions involving public and private companies, including negotiated mergers, auction bid processes, cross-border transactions, distressed asset sales, leveraged buyouts, going private transactions, going dark transactions, hostile takeovers, proxy contests, takeover defense, and purchases and sales of divisions and subsidiaries.

John earned his Juris Doctor degree (JD) and Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) from the University of California, Davis. He is a member of the Chambers USA, Projects: Renewables and Alternative Energy.
