Heather Pfister

Director, Strategic Partnerships For City And Transit at Intersection

Heather Pfister has more than 15 years of work experience in various roles and industries.

Starting in 2008, they worked with the International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art, where they prepared for 501(c)(3) status and developed an operating budget.

Heather then joined the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in 2009 as a researcher, focusing on sustainable and environmental practice opportunities in government-sponsored public art programs. During their time there, they also conducted maintenance reviews and provided conservation recommendations for public art sites.

In the same year, Pfister worked as a grant writer for the Center for Architecture Foundation, before moving on to the North Brooklyn Public Art Coalition. As a public art project manager, they collaborated with artists and local community organizations to develop and install large-scale public art projects.

From 2005 to 2011, Pfister served as the marketing director for Robert Siegel Architects. Heather worked directly with the General Services Administration on the selection and management of an artist for a public art sculpture project. Heather also led cross-functional teams on the production and submission of RFQs/RFPs for various projects.

As a senior marketing coordinator at Perkins+Will in 2011, Pfister conducted research and produced design competitions and pursuit proposals to win new business. Heather then moved on to Perkins Eastman in 2012 and served as an international marketing coordinator, strategizing and managing business pursuit proposals.

In the same year, they joined Gensler as a marketing specialist, championing strategy sessions with executives and project teams to win business from Fortune 500 clients. Shortly after, they became the marketing manager for Gensler's New York office, overseeing the marketing department and managing business pursuit budgets.

Pfister then transitioned to The New School in 2014 as the assistant director of development for corporate and foundation relations. In this role, they developed fundraising proposals and managed a diverse portfolio of donors.

Their most recent position, starting in 2015, is with Intersection Co., where they serve as the director of strategic partnerships for city and transit. Heather is the primary liaison for a major contract with LA Metro and works closely with executives to inform the client on revenue projections, contract modifications, and the development of company products and services.

Throughout their career, Pfister has demonstrated leadership skills, managed cross-functional teams, and successfully pursued and secured multi-million dollar contracts with public sector agencies.

Heather Pfister obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography & Visual Theory, Art History from the University at Buffalo, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. Heather then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Non-Profit Visual Art Management & Cultural Policy at New York University from 2007 to 2009.
