Joshua Hester

Joshua Hester's work experience begins in 2003 at Weill Cornell Medical College, where they worked as a Web Designer/Animator until 2006. During this time, they illustrated and animated online medical modules, created a Continuing Medical Education application using Flash and Maya 3D, and designed web-based applications and websites.

In 2007, Joshua interned at Funny Garbage as a Graphic Design Intern and at SpotCo as a Broadcast Intern. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as an Advertising Designer at SpotCo.

Starting in 2010, Joshua worked at Weill Cornell Medical College again, this time as a User Interface Designer/Developer until 2012.

In 2012, they joined Control Group as a Design Technologist, where they worked until 2015.

From 2013 to 2014, Joshua was an Adjunct Instructor at Queens College.

In 2015, they joined Intersection Co. as a Senior Visual Designer and remained with the company until 2020 when they were promoted to Product Design & UX Lead, Transit. In 2022, they became the UX & Product Design Senior Lead and later the Director of Product Design.

In addition to their work at Intersection Co., Joshua has also been an Adjunct Faculty at The New School since 2022.

Joshua Hester obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. Following this, they pursued their Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at the School of Visual Arts from 2006 to 2008.
